Gelato Rooted in Family Tradition
The Anita Gelato story started more than 22 years ago with Mama Anita and her youngest son, Nir. Together, they prepared frozen desserts in a small family kitchen, sharing their first creations with relatives, friends, and neighbours.
Nir focused on preparing the gelato base, while Mama Anita made the homemade jams added to their recipes. Their shared work shaped a distinctive approach built around smooth textures, generous ingredients, and original flavour combinations.
Anita Gelato has since grown to more than 160 locations worldwide, including our store in Queenstown. The family principles behind the brand still guide every recipe. Each rotating selection combines well-loved favourites with new creations, giving New Zealand gelato lovers a different experience throughout the year.
